The tour began at the Girl Scouts headquarters at 580 24-1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO.  Tour participants used maps and followed signs to tour the eight water gardens, in any order, on their own.  Ice cream, cake and cookies were served at the final water garden on the tour where participants met with other pond enthusiasts.  Many door prizes were drawn during the Ice Cream Social.

In addition to the tour, Home Depot and Michael's Craft Store conducted FREE Seminars on Saturday, August 28, and Sunday, August 29, 2004.
The Home Depot conducted a How to Construct a Water Pond clinic by certified garden experts of Home Depot.
Table Top Fountain demonstration at Michael’s was conducted both days providing participants an opportunity to see how a table top fountain is constructed.  Rosemary Kaley gave instructions, answered questions and provided a comprehensive list of items needed to create the fountain.  The list and instructions are posted here: Table Top Fountain.

Local artist Penny Creasy created the 2004 water garden themed poster.  Working in pastels for the creation of “Water Sprite on Lily Pad,” the colors relate a feeling of solitude and relaxation.  Ms. Creasy resides in Grand Junction with her husband Jim, a wildlife enthusiast.

This Frog was made by 16 year old David Gomora in his welding class as part of the Collbran Job corp.  It was offered in the silent auction at the 2004 Water Garden Tour.

This year the Foundation was pleased to be the recipient of Borders Bookstore “Benefit Days” on the same weekend.
